2018 Tournament Recap

Chang Sets Girls Tournament Record, Morishita Survives Late Charge

A native of Seoul, South Korea, Deborah Chang put up three straight rounds of 70 to finish with a score of 210 (6 under par) and win the girls title by eight strokes at the 2018 Hudson Junior Invitational. She broke the girls invitational 54-hole scoring record of 213, previously set by three-time invitational champion Beth Bauer.

The boys tournament was much closer, but Kyo Morishita, Bradenton, FL won the boys title with a score of 213 (3 under par), as he survived a late challenge from several players.

Morishita, Chang and the other top three finishers each received their trophies from former British Open champion Ben Curtis. The Kent State graduate is now affliated with CCH through the Ben Curtis Golf Academy. Curtis noted he himself played the Hudson Junior when he was 17.

Congratulations to all that participated in the 2018 Hudson Junior Invitational.  Your endourace and competitive spirit once again shined to make the 40th anniversary another great event.  The course was in beautiful condition and played tough. The rain early in the week made for softer fairways adding length to the course.  Thursdays final round in the sun capped another tremendous year for such a prestigeous event.
