The Hudson Junior Invitational is a 54 hole stroke play competition.  The field consists of top ranking junior boys and girls ages 15 through 18 years old.

Selections are based on previous tournament expierence with emphasis based on national tournament finishes.  The field represents:
- A fair representation of boys and girls
- A cross - section of states and countries

Particular consideration is given to those players who have won or had a high finish in the following events:
- United States Golf Association Junior Match Play Qualifiers
- United States Golf Association Amateur Qualifers
- United States Golf Association Publinks Qualifers
Thoses who have been appointed to a nationally recognized team or ranking:
- 1st Team Polo Golf All - American
- Canadian Junior Team
- Cannon Cup
- Izzo Cup
- Top 25 in the Golfweek Rankings
Champions and High Finishers of the oldest age divisions of selected AJGA and non-AGJA events
